Full Bare Shell Restoration for Classic CarsAs well as doing minor welding repairs on classic cars and specialist panel fabrication for parts that are no longer available, we also take on bigger car restoration projects.
If you're looking to do a proper job of it and completely restore a classic car our bare shell restoration service could be just what you need. Have a read below to find out what our complete classic car restoration service involves: |
|
1) Stripping Down the Car Body Shell
On arrival in the workshop we completely strip down the classic car to a bare shell. This process includes the removal of interior, carpets, windows and seals, engine and running gear as well as any removable panels such as the doors, bonnet and wings.
The customer can save some expense by doing this part themselves, if desired.

2) Paint Removal from the Car Body Shell
Once completely stripped down to a bare shell we transport the vehicle to a specialist local company for the removal of old paint, sealant and any other coatings to fully reveal the welding work that needs to be done. This is a very important, not to mention messy step that is best left to the professionals (which is why we don't do it in the workshop).
3) Welding the Car Body Shell
The bare metal shell is then transported back to the workshop where we assess the work that needs to be done, source and order high quality panels (or fabricate our own panels with specialist tooling if good ones are not readily available) and complete all the welding work that is required.
We document everything with photos and videos which can be seen on our website and provided to the customer at the end of the job. |

4) Paint and Rebuild
At this point, the customer may either take their car to continue the project themselves or we can arrange to have the vehicle resprayed by another local specialist company we use and then completely rebuilt by us in the workshop.
